Please Refrain © Andy Sloan
Some folks, you can’t talk to them
They use up all the oxygen
It seems that there’s no stoppin’ them or the pain
If you have nothing to say, please refrain
There’s not much point to what you say
You don’t let that stand in your way
You’re the only one who likes it when you complain
If you have nothing to say, please refrain
I know patience is a virtue
But keep this up and I might hurt you
Why don’t you mind your own business
Then I won’t need your forgiveness
I’m too polite to tell you to shut up
But you should shut up
There’s no need to state the obvious
Even if you feel you must
You’re driving everybody else insane
If you have nothing to say, please refrain
Here’s some pie for your piehole
Cuz your words are never vital
It will be good for your survival to abstain
If you have nothing to say, please refrain
Why don’t you spare me your stories
Truth be told they always bore me
Watch TV or read a book
Play a game or learn to cook
I’m too polite to tell you to shut up
But you should shut up
I’m too polite to tell you to shut up
But you should shut up
